The work consists in video-stills from personal surveillance videos recorded by the artist in different public and private spaces from Bucharest and Berlin between 1994-2000.
It was produced for the project “Denkzeichen 4. November 1989” (Memory Marker to the 4th of November 1989), Alexanderplatz, Berlin and shown in an illuminated billboard (City-Light) in the middle of Alexanderplatz, Berlin for 3 months in 2000.
It was included in the show “CTRL [SPACE] Rhetorics of Surveillance from Bentham to Big Brother” at ZKM / Museum for Contemporary Arts Karlsruhe, 2001.
